The Cannery Celebrates Texas Independence Day
38th Annual Rose City Chili Pod & Texas Music City Chili Cook-off

LINDALE, TX – The Cannery is excited to announce they will be home to the 38th Annual Rose City Chili Pod and Texas Music City Chili Cook-off on Texas Independence Day, March 2, 2019 from 1:00 – 4:00pm.

In the words of Davy Crockett, “You may all go to hell, I will go to the Cannery!” Well, maybe not exactly, but if you want to celebrate Texas’ Independence, the Cannery is where you will want to be!

In addition to the annual chili cook-off competition, participants can enjoy live music, youth art and talent contests, high school culinary student participation, and some of best chili Texas has to offer. $5 per person donation for entry.

WHAT: 38th Annual Rose City Chili Pod and Texas Music City Chili Cook-off

WHEN: Saturday, March 2, 2019
Gates open 1pm – 4pm
Beans Turn-In Noon
Junior Turn-In 1pm
CASI Turn-In 2pm
(Awards will follow final judging)

Chili Cook Off Info:

If you are interested in creating your own pot of red, there will be three categories: CASI Chili for anyone 18 and up, CASI Junior Chili for ages 7-17 and a Local’s Bragging Rights Chili. Other competitions will be Beans and CASI Showmanship. Competition is open to all ages.

(RV’s are welcome (no hook-ups) to come set-up after 4pm on Friday and tent cookers can set up the morning of the cook-off.)
